WHEN IT HITS YOU ONCE AGAIN AND YOU WOULDN’T HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY, 2024, serves as a playful lament exploring an extended state of transition between childhood and adulthood that arises as an effect of housing crises, a dooming rate of climate change and growing up online. The work reflects on the paradox of yearning for youth while facing the reality of ageing responsibilities and the persistent nature of time. In confronting these illusions, the work draws on the juvenile and provocative spirit of internet meme culture, an increasing awareness of the self and our mortality, and the sleepover party where you saw your first penis on Omegle.
